Water monitoring for housing societies

Continuous visibility across your society's water tanks.

TownEve combines contactless ultrasonic sensing, local wireless communication and software to help authorized teams see current tank levels, historical patterns and conditions that need investigation.

From periodic checks to continuous visibility.

A society may have water available at the source and still face an interruption at a tower. A transfer pump can trip. A tank can deplete faster than expected. Staff may discover the problem only after residents report it.

Continuous monitoring gives the people responsible for water operations a clearer picture of what is happening between manual inspections.

What users can see

Live tank conditions and historical level changes help teams understand whether a tank is filling, steadily depleting or behaving differently from its normal pattern. Individual accounts and role-based access align visibility with responsibility.

Contactless sensing

Measure the water without immersing the sensor.

Ultrasonic sensors are mounted above the water surface. The measured distance is used with configured tank geometry to determine water level, percentage full and estimated stored volume.

Society-wide architecture

Distributed sensing. One connected monitoring layer.

Sensors at each tower connect to a tower-level slave module. Slave modules send data over radio frequency to one society-level master module, which sends the society's monitoring data to the TownEve backend through an internet connection.

Tank sensor → tower slave module → RF → society master module → internet → TownEve application

The exact monitoring scope and communication design are determined from the property's actual water network.

Understand the water journey, not only the final tank.

Overhead and underground tanks

Water can move through underground storage, treatment where applicable, transfer pumps and overhead tanks before reaching residents. Monitoring relevant storage points together provides better operational context.

Monitoring before automation

TownEve's current production platform provides visibility and alerts. Direct pump-state monitoring is in development. Remote pump operation is in development and testing. Control and automation require site-specific electrical integration, safeguards and commissioning.

Live reference deployment

Operating across Park Astra in Pune.

Park Astra has 10 residential towers with three overhead tanks per tower for drinking, domestic and STP recycled water. Underground storage is also monitored.

During two reported pump-trip incidents, email alerts led the operating team to review historical tank data. Sustained depletion across multiple towers prompted investigation, and the pumping system was restarted before the affected overhead tanks emptied. TownEve provided visibility and context. The operating team took the action.
